PETRA PINGEL
“I am drawn to bold colors combined with organic and whimsical shapes that feel alive, slightly off-balance, and in motion.”
Born and raised in Germany, Petra’s is a multidisciplinary artist. Her creative path began early, inspired by a family of makers that included a poet grandfather, a painter uncle, and an elementary school teacher who worked as an illustrator.
After completing an apprenticeship in printing and typography, she earned a degree from Kunstschule Alsterdamm in Hamburg and worked professionally as a graphic designer in Germany before moving to Charlotte.
In 2018, Petra discovered her passion for hand-glazed tile art, a medium that combined her design background with her love of color, texture, and experimentation. Through her work, she simplifies forms into bold, graphic shapes while incorporating organic lines, patterns, and movement.
Petra’s work ranges from intimate single-tile pieces to larger multi-tile compositions. Each tile is hand-painted with ceramic glazes and kind-fired, creating a durable surface that is both heat- and weather resistant. Her tiles can be displayed as decorative objects, installed as functional wall pieces or backsplashes, or framed and presented as artwork.
Two Emerging Artist grants from the Arts & Science Council Charlotte in 2022 and 2024 helped Petra purchase her own kiln and transform a room in her home into “The tinyTile Studio”, where she continues to develop new work.
Also on display are some of Petra’s latest creative playing fields: small mixed-media watercolor works.

AMY WINNICKI
Amy Winnicki is an award winning fine art photographer whose work explores the quiet places where nature, emotion, and story intersect. Drawn to changing skies, forgotten paths, water, light, and the beauty found in unexpected moments, Amy creates images that invite the viewer to pause, feel, and discover their own story within the scene.
Her photography has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions throughout the Carolinas, including an exhibition at The Mint Museum Uptown in Charlotte. Her work has earned multiple honors in juried competitions as well as recognition from the New York Photography Awards.
At the heart of Amy’s photography is a belief that beauty often lives in the moments we nearly pass by. Through images centered on resilience, transformation, stillness, and hope, she seeks to preserve those fleeting moments and remind us to look a little closer.
