Transformation at Mint Museum, Uptown

Dates: June 17th-August 23rd

Show Type: The theme for this show is TRANSFORMATION. It is up to you, the artist, to interpret this theme. Viewers will bring their own interpretations as well.

This show will be juried and judged.  Jurors will select entries for the show and all artists will be notified by May 25th of acceptance status.  The judge will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners plus 3 judge's choice awards.

Location: Mint Museum, 500 S Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202

Submissions: open from April 27th-May 4th, 2026. 

Take-In: Monday, June 8th for 2D, and Tuesday, June 9th for 3D

Opening reception: Wednesday, June 17th, 6-9pm

Pick-Up: Monday, August 24th

ENTRY INFORMATION:

  • You must be a current member of GCA.

  • There is a limit of ONE piece for submission.

  • If you are submitting to the Mint AND the Cain exhibits, your submission for the Mint show CANNOT be the same piece as your submission for the Cain.

  • For any sales, a commission of 30% will be withheld by GCA.

  • All 2-D artwork must be wired with "D"-rings and wire and be ready to hang - NO SCREW EYES or SAWTOOTH HANGERS.

  • All entrants must follow the Show Guidelines and Rules of Integrity of the Guild of Charlotte Artists which can be found at here.

  • Artwork must be available for sale.

  • Size requirements: NO LARGER than 50x50 (including frame).

  • NO substitutions will be allowed.  You must bring the original image.

  • Your artwork must remain in the exhibit for the full exhibition time (6/17 - 8/23)

Look and See at Cain Center for the Arts

Dates: June 23-August 8th

Show Type: The theme for this show is "Look and See." We are asking both the artist and viewers to keep this quote by Henry David Thoreau in mind, "It's not what you look at that matters, but what you see." The theme is directed at the viewer.  It is not intended to limit the artists.  When submitting for this show think about what your piece will evoke in the viewer.  Please feel free to submit any of your art you think will help the viewer see, not just look.

This show will be juried only.  Jurors will select entries for the show and all artists will be notified by May 25th of acceptance status.  

Location: Cain Center for the Arts, 21348 Catawba Ave, Cornelius

Submissions: open from April 27th-May 4th, 2026. 

Take-In: Tuesday, June 2nd and Wednesday, June 3rd, 10am -4pm

Opening reception: Thursday, June 25th from 6:30-8:30

Pick-Up: Tuesday, August 11th and Wednesday, August 12th, 10am -4pm

  • If accepted into the show, you will be required to submit a signed contract acknowledging all guidelines set by Cain and GCA.  This contract must be signed by the artist and must be submitted at the time the art is dropped off at CAIN.
